Membuat Foto Olahraga Lebih Dinamis

Make Sports Photos More Dynamic

Sometimes when photographing sports the results may be just ordinary. You can try this trick to make the results more dynamic. You can rotate your camera using a slow shutter speed so that there is a radial blur effect around the main object.

You can take the center of the lens as a reference point, rotate the camera while keeping the center unchanged. You can turn clockwise or counterclockwise, it won't be a problem. Apart from that, the slower the shutter speed you use, the more visible the blur effect will be. But you have to make sure that the main subject in the center remains recognizable, otherwise your photo will look like a blurry photo. The key is that you have to rotate the camera as quickly as possible.

In the image above, you can see that the middle part is blurry. The image becomes unclear what is captured.

Some suggestions for this technique:

1. Keep your elbows away from your body

Usually you might like to keep your elbows close to your body to minimize camera shake. But for this tip, you have to keep your elbows away from your body to make it easier for you to turn the camera. Please remember not to touch the zoom ring and lens focus ring when rotating.

2. Continue to press and hold shutter speed until you have finished rotating the camera

It is recommended to use AI Servo mode on Canon and AF-C mode on Nikon. Press the shutter speed, hold it until you finish rotating the camera. Don't stop releasing the shutter speed when you are in the middle of turning the camera. Try to create a composition where the main object is in the center of the frame.

3. Zoom burst technique

You can use this technique to create a focused line effect like in manga (Japanese comics). Rotate the lens from a wider angle to a narrower angle at a slow shutter speed.
