Architectural Photography Tips

Knowledge about composition already, cheat sheets for photos too... now I want to share some tips for those of you who like architectural photography... How do you get good photos apart from paying attention to composition?

1. Do research

Before taking photos, you can find out about the history of the building, or why the building was built. By knowing more, you can get inspiration for your photos which helps you focus on the story you want to tell in the photo.

2. Proper lighting

The right lighting can emphasize a space, structure or give a certain impression. Apart from that, it can shape someone's understanding of what the essence of the building is. If the weather is not favorable when shooting, you can use a tripod.

3. Experiment with different points of view

Try experimenting with different angles for taking photos. By exploring, you can capture other beauties in buildings that perhaps not many people can see. You can try to shoot as close to the building as possible and shoot straight up. Or you can capture building details that are not visible when you shoot in one whole frame.

4. Add a human element

By adding human elements to photos, you can make photos more interesting. Make sure the person's position can complement the composition of your photo.
