Food Flatlay Photo Tips

Who doesn't like food photos? Surely almost everyone likes it... But do you sometimes get confused when you want to arrange your food? In the end, the food got cold before we finished taking photos... Come on, let's take a look at the tips...

1. Use your hands

You can use your hands to add variety to your photos. For example, there is a hand holding a spoon, or taking a glass. You need to remember to position your hands better at the edge of the frame so that your food remains the main subject without being distracted by your hands. You can also put more than one hand in, but it's best to place them in several corners and not clustered in one area.

3. From big to small

To arrange food, it is best to choose from large to small items. It's best if you prepare things in advance, such as placemats or tablecloths. After that, you can add small elements to it to beautify your photo.

4. Experiment with patterns and textures

You can use several elements at once in a photo, from smooth to rough. The texture and pattern will complement each other. This aims to give depth to your photos. Keep in mind not to use textures that contrast too much with your food. Apart from that, create a pattern that is soothing to the eyes, not messy here and there and adjust it to the concept you want.

5. Take pictures from a bird's eye view

Taking flatlay photos turns out to be better if taken from a bird's eye view so that the food looks like it is from above and is not distorted. Apart from that, you can use a tripod to make things easier and you can arrange your food more freely.
