- You can use manual or aperture priority mode on the camera
- Use spot metering mode. You can point the camera at the object and press the shutter button. Don't focus the camera on the background because it will make the object overshadow.
- You can make the background darker, underexposed 2 stops
- If you use Aperture Priority mode, set EV to -2. The camera will darken the back by up to 2 stops.
- If you use manual mode, adjust the aperture and shutter speed until the EV marker is at -2.
- Use low ISO. Usually low ISO produces dark images. But in this case, you actually need it. With ISO 100, the photo quality will remain good because there is minimal noise.
