Strobist Technique for Food Photos

This technique is widely used in food photography. The advantage is that you can take photos without having to rely on natural sunlight, but the results are similar to natural light. Care is needed to be able to adjust the light used for each type of food, of course it varies. For example, photographing food is not the same as photographing drinks.

Tips that can be used by strobists in food photography:

  1. The correct color balance (white balance) can provide good results, but the wrong color balance can have a big impact on the photo results
  2. The placement of the lights greatly influences the results. If you put it behind or slightly above the object you can get a good texture of the food.
  3. Create an interesting composition so that the point of interest is focused on the food.
