Tanggung Jawab Sosial Dalam Fotografi (Part 2)

Social Responsibility in Photography (Part 2)

So in this section we will discuss what we can do as photographers?

Photography has great power, from increasing public awareness, making money, promoting tourism, or even changing the course of events, and of course photography can be a window to see the world.

This story has happened many times. Michael Kenna photographed a tree in the middle of a farmer's rice field in Hokkaido called the Wise Man's Tree. Finally, in order to get the beauty of the tree, many photographers came and wanted to take photos of the tree. Finally, a marker was placed in the rice field so that people taking photos from the road would not enter the rice field. But the photographers didn't want to pay attention, in the end the farmer cut down the tree to preserve the environment. Let's not let it be like that, bro, instead of helping to preserve it, we end up destroying it.

Maybe many of us say, but not all photographers have the fame, money and resources to finance or provide something valuable. It's true, but you can do a lot of things besides giving something in the form of material. All of us can make a difference. You can try to collaborate with a community, for example to contribute your photos which can make people more aware of existing environmental issues. Creativity, no matter how small, means a lot. Time, empathy and feeling are the rewards a photographer can give. Don't just take, but also give :)
