Rahasia Memotret Hitam Putih

The Secret to Photographing Black and White

Making black and white photography is now even easier, with editing techniques you can even turn a color photo into a black and white photo with one click. But if the photos are just like that, you might get bored... Come on, check out some tips for making your black and white photos anti-mainstream...

1. Use RAW format

By using RAW more information is stored, making it easier to edit photos. Apart from that, you can also set the camera's picture style to monochrome so you can immediately see the photos in black and white without having to guess anymore so you can experiment more with contrast, sharpness and tone.

2. Look for contrast, shape, and texture

You can look for the right colors so that your photos turn out good. For example, in color photography, if you see red in front of a green background, the two colors look contrasting, but in a black and white photo, the two colors are almost the same because the brightness level is the same, so your photo will look normal. You need to be more observant to see the light or tone of a subject. You can also play with motifs, shapes and textures to get the right composition.

3. Use long exposures

Try experimenting with long exposures, for example of moving water or clouds. Subject movement can provide textural contrast to a stationary subject. Don't forget to use a tripod when shooting.

4. Use filters

You can try experimenting by using a graduated Neutral Density (ND Grad) filter or a polarizing filter which is suitable for use in black and white photography. This filter can make your image more contrasty.
