How to Find the Sweet Spot of the Lens

What is the sweet spot of a lens? The sweet spot of a lens is the point or aperture setting when the lens produces the sharpest photos. For example, the 50mm f/1.8 lens produces the sharpest photos at f/5.6, which means the sweet spot for this lens is f/5.6. But this applies specifically, the specific meaning is that even though KEE friends have the same type of lens, it doesn't necessarily mean the sweet spot number is the same.

KEE friends, you can try the following methods on each lens to find out what number the sweet spot of the lens is:

1. Install the camera on a tripod, make sure it is stable and does not shake

2. Stick a piece of newspaper on the wall

3. Make sure the lens is perpendicular to the wall and set focus on the newspaper

4. Use manual focus, take several photos with different apertures, for example f/2.8 - f/4 - f/5.6 - f/8 -f/11 - f/16 and f/22. You can adjust the aperture number you want and the density according to what you want.

5. Transfer the photo to the computer, zoom to 100% and compare the sharpness of one photo with another. You will see variations in sharpness, contrast and clarity in the photo. Photos that have maximum sharpness and clarity, meaning that is the lens' sweet spot number.
