4 Teknik Foto Backlight

4 Backlight Photo Techniques

You can try these 4 techniques to produce backlight photos that are different and not monotonous.

1. Use flash

Usually, when taking backlight photos, the model's face will look dark because it is not exposed to sunlight. You can use a flash to illuminate the front so that not only the background is bright but the model's face can be seen clearly.

2. Create a silhouette

You can vary the backlight with the silhouette technique. You simply measure the lighting on the background, without any additional light. You can be creative by making interesting poses or silhouettes.

3. Make it over

Photos that are overdone are not always bad, it turns out. If you can use it well, it can be a good and interesting photo. Usually measurements are taken on the model so that the background becomes over-exposed. It is recommended to use a lens hood to reduce flare in your photos and make the photos more contrasty.

4. Low contrast

This technique is a little risky because the photo taken is not too dark on the model, but also not too over the background, so you take settings in the middle. Your photo will be slightly under on the model, and slightly over on the background. If you shoot in RAW format, you can edit and maximize the details in your photos. It is recommended to use this technique when the contrast between the background and the model is not too great.
